Job Descriptions

Although we all have individual roles, Beacon Hill Netball Club committee works as a team.

If our family or work commitments need to take priority, we help each other out. Please consider joining.

President

  • Manage committee & chairs monthly meetings
  • Produces club newsletters
  • Acts as facilitator for club activities
  • Ensures the planning and budgeting for the future is carried out in accordance with the wishes of the members
  • Assists other committee members in their roles when necessary

Club Secretary

  • Mandatory position to participate in the MWNA competition
  • Official club contact for MWNA
  • Receives and sends correspondence
  • Prepares agendas for monthly meetings
  • Assists with grading
  • Submits nominations for representative players etc

Treasurer

  • Mandatory position to participate in the MWNA competition
  • Banking
  • Prepares & monitors the budget
  • Pays invoices
  • Reconciles accounts
  • Submits financial reports 

Registrar

  • Oversees registration and team formation
  • Assists with grading
  • Emails out club information

NetSetGo Convenor

  • Contact point for NSG players & parents
  • Assists registrar with team formation
  • Emails out club information

Junior Convenor

  • Contact point for junior players & parents
  • Assists registrar with team formation
  • Assists with grading
  • Emails out club information

Senior Convenor

  • Contact point for senior players. Due to the age of the players often a great deal of this job can be done by email & Facebook
  • Assists registrar with team formation
  • Emails out club information

Coaching Convenor

  • Recruits & allocates coaches to teams
  • Aids coaches to develop their skills
  • Supports coaches throughout the season
  • Oversees the grading process
  • Organises training courts 

Umpire Convenor

  • Mandatory position to participate in the MWNA competition
  • Level 1 Accreditation required
  • Attends MWNA Umpiring Convenors Meetings
  • Manages umpire allocations
  • Organises mentor roster
  • Identifies and organises training & education opportunities for umpires

Minutes Secretary

  • Takes minutes at monthly meeting then distributes them to committee

BHYC Delegate

  • Attends monthly youth club meeting and reports at monthly netball meeting

MWNA Delegate

  • Attends monthly MWNA meeting and reports at monthly netball meeting

Gear Steward

  • Ensures kits are complete
  • Purchases new equipment
  • Logs, distributes & collects kits 

Uniform Steward

  • Purchases new uniforms
  • Sells and distributes uniforms to players

General Committee Member

  • No set role but may be asked to take on smaller  jobs such as organising photos, duty rosters, gala days, trophies, updating FaceBook, etc
